At Meme’s Worms, we know you’re not just ordering composting worms—you’re counting on them to arrive alive, healthy, and ready to get to work. That’s why we offer a 100% Live Arrival Guarantee on most worm orders* and take extra care in how we pack and ship every single box.

Here’s everything you need to know before your order goes out the door.

When We Ship

We ship live worms every Monday and Tuesday, using either USPS Priority Mail or UPS Ground—whichever is best for your area and weather conditions. We don’t ship later in the week to avoid weekend delays that could stress out your worms.

• Want your order shipped on Monday? Be sure to place it by Sunday at 7 PM EST.
  
• If the weather’s too extreme or there’s a major holiday, we may hold your order for a safer delivery window.
  

How Long Does It Take?

Most worm orders arrive within 2–3 business days after shipping (continental U.S. only). Once your box hits the road, we’ll email you a tracking number so you can keep an eye on things. Make sure to check your inbox (and spam folder, just in case).

Shipping Costs

We like to keep it simple:

• Free shipping on everything—except for trommels and bulk worm orders (10 lbs or more).
  
• For bulk worm orders, shipping is calculated at checkout. Just a heads-up: if you don’t choose overnight or 2-day shipping, our Live Arrival Guarantee won’t apply.
  
• Trommels are a bit trickier to ship, so you’ll need to call or email us for a custom quote:

Our 100% Live Arrival Guarantee

We stand behind our worms. If something goes wrong, we’ll work with you to make it right. To qualify for our guarantee:

• Be home or ask your post office to hold your shipment so the worms aren’t sitting in a hot (or freezing) mailbox.
  
• Check your worms right away when they arrive.
  
• If there’s a problem, contact us within 2 hours of delivery. We’ll likely ask for a quick photo of the worms and the box to help us troubleshoot.
  

Please note: We can’t accept returns for live worms—once they’ve left us, they won’t survive a round trip.

How We Pack

We carefully hand-pack your worms in breathable cotton bags, tucked into sturdy boxes marked “LIVE WORMS.” Inside, they’re nestled in dry peat moss to help them stay comfortable during the ride. They might seem a little sluggish at first, but give them time—they just need to settle into their new home.

Not Ordering Worms?

If you’re ordering worm bins, compost kits, or other supplies (not live creatures), those typically ship via UPS or USPS, depending on where you are. Delivery usually takes up to a week.

Need your order held at the post office? Want to give us a heads-up about delivery quirks? Just leave a note during checkout or reach out before placing your order. We do our best to accommodate, though we can’t guarantee exact delivery days.
