Disclaimer: Our worms are classified and described as Eisenia fetida or Eisenia andrei based on our breeding lines, supplier records, historical stock separation, and observed performance characteristics consistent with each species.
Due to the extremely close genetic relationship between Eisenia fetida and Eisenia andrei, and the existence of overlapping traits, cryptic lineages, and documented hybridization in scientific research, species-level identification cannot be guaranteed with absolute certainty without laboratory genetic sequencing of individual specimens.
Routine DNA testing of commercial worm harvests is not practical, and no species classification provided by our operation should be interpreted as a genetic guarantee.
Accordingly, species designations are provided in good faith and represent our best professional judgment, but are not guaranteed for legal, scientific, or regulatory purposes. All worms sold are intended for composting, soil health, and vermiculture use and are collectively considered red wiggler composting worms (Eisenia spp.).

What should I do when my worms arrive?
Bring them inside as soon as possible. Open the box and the bag so they get air. They may seem a little sluggish or dehydrated after a few days in transit and that's completely normal. You can place the worms and their bedding straight into your bin and mist lightly with water.
How many worms should I order?
For a home worm bin, a good starting point is about 1 pound of worms per square foot of bin space. If you're new to composting, start smaller like a half pound or one pound until you're comfortable managing a bin. Experienced composters often go with 2 pounds of worms for every pound of daily food waste. More guide for how much worms I should purchase.
How fast will my worms ship?
We ship composting products every Monday and Tuesday using UPS Ground or USPS Priority Mail. Once shipped, orders typically arrive within 2–3 business days.
Do you ship worms year-round?
Yes, we ship every week, all year. Shipping may shift slightly around extreme heat or cold to protect the worms in transit, but orders keep moving.
I won't be home to receive my delivery, what should I do?
If you will not be home, request a “Hold at Post Office” or “UPS Access Point” to ensure the worms stay in a temperature controlled environment. We recommend letting us know before your worms ships or once your order is confirmed.
Will my worm bin smell bad?
No, not if it's set up right. A healthy bin smells like damp earth, not garbage. Overfeeding or too much moisture are the usual causes of odor, both of which are easy to fix. Check our guides.
Will my worms survive if I live far away, or if it's really hot or cold where I am?
Yes. Each order is carefully packed in breathable, insulated materials and shipped in sturdy corrugated boxes. Once dispatched, most shipments arrive within 2–3 business days in excellent condition. During extreme heat we place shipments on a short weather hold rather than risk them; in transit this protects the worms and doesn't mean your order is forgotten. You'll get a shipping update once we ship.
What happens if my worms arrive dead?
Every order is covered by our Live Delivery Guarantee. If any worms arrive dead, just email us within 2 hours of delivery with a photo or short video, and we'll make it right. It is the customer's responsibility to read our Live Delivery Guarantee to get replacement if your order is DOA.
